About Astrid
Astrid's goal is to leverage technology to help over 1 billion people be happier, healthier and more productive. We hope Astrid will be helpful to you, and we welcome your feedback on how to make Astrid better!
Team Astrid
Jon Paris Co-founder
Jon is a Bay Area native who went to UC Berkeley to study physics and meet Jane,
the love of his life and team page copy editor! After graduation, Jon served as a
campus minister at Berkeley and Stanford, working with emerging leaders to make the
world a better place. As CEO, Jon leads the Astrid team with a passion to leverage
technology to improve peoples' lives.
Tim Su Co-founder
If Astrid had a father, it would be Tim. After graduating from Stanford in 2007,
Tim joined the data-loving world of Palantir Technologies as an early engineer.
In 2008, while on vacation in Las Vegas, Tim built the first version of Astrid.
He currently leads the technical side of Astrid as CTO, and on the side, searches
the world for great images of cats.
Henry Tsai Head of UX
Henry leads UX and other efforts at Astrid. Before that, he was a management consultant
at Bain & Company, got his undergrad and masters degrees at Stanford, and studied under sculptor
Wei Li Wang.
Andrew Shaw Engineer
During college at Washington University in St. Louis, Andrew built iPhone apps that received
tens of thousand of downloads and helped deliver the original iPhone app for Eventbrite.
He once won a Texas steak challenge by finishing a 72 oz steak with a pound and a half of
sides in under an hour.
Sam Bosley Engineer
Sam is Stanford grad who spent a year in UC Irvine's PhD program in Software Architecture at
UC Irvine before joining the Astrid team. Sam loves hacking Google APIs, writing unit tests,
and playing jazz trumpet.
Preston Whitehall QA
Preston makes sure Astrid's products are bug free. He studied Economics at the University of San
Francisco and managed a team at Office Depot. He is the Astrid team's resident pop culture guru.
Joshua Ball Engineer
Although Josh was lead engineer at Tagged before joining Astrid, he never graduated from Oxford.
In fact, he never attended Oxford at all. He spends most of his time obsessing over details. When
he comes to the realization that r is not a hex digit, he'll return to waging the war against
copied and pasted code.
Isaac Wang Engineer
Isaac is a proud native of LA who went to Stanford to study Electrical Engineering and Music,
Science, and Technology. Besides Astrid, Isaac loves learning about and serving Jesus, rocking
out on the piano / guitar / drums, going on epic multi-day bike rides, and making horrendous puns.
